Coordinates and oversees daily administrative and clerical operations, ensuring efficient workflow, and providing support to providers, staff and patients. Coordinate staff schedules, cover front desk check-in/check-out process. Train new staff, address patient inquiries professionally. Verify patient information and assist with medical billing, obtain prior authorization for surgeries, procedures or medication as needed.
Job Description:
- Support day-to-day front desk operations for the physician practice under the direction of Physicians, Manager, and/or Director.
- Perform initial intake: collecting patient insurance data, demographics, co-pays, obtaining signatures, scanning insurance cards and driver’s licenses into electronic health records.
- Enter all required data into electronic health record, ensuring compliance with meaningful use, managed care, and quality standards. Monitor and address Epic Workques and inbasket tasks.
- Verify insurance eligibility and ensure referrals/pre-certifications are in place by the time of visit. Oversee front desk workflows.
- Coordinate appointments, procedures, radiology exams, and assist with scheduling surgeries and consultations.
- Oversee practice operations to ensure quality and efficiency, complying with policies and regulations.
- Assist with phones, mail, and manual charge submissions. Support staff in absence of Manager and support special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and web-based applications.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to lead small projects and provide high-level customer service.
