Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise assigned administrative staff of accountants, secretaries, clerks, switchboard operators, buyers, receivers, etc. to provide an efficient team to successfully support project completion.
  • Prepare or direct the preparation of payroll, accounts payable, reconciliations, back charges, and field invoices.
  • Direct all personnel administration activities on project including recruiting, new hire sign-up, employee orientation, policy and procedure interpretation, and terminations.
  • Direct the purchasing of expendable materials and small tools as required and approved by project manager. Provide material control (receiving) for all materials and equipment required by project.
  • Provide support for other departments on assigned projects to assist in their administrative needs.
  • Prepare and maintain various cost and statistical reports to support project construction activity. Monitor project budgets and provide field management with progress reports and updates.
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by Project Manager or home office Accounting Manager.

Required Experience:

Educational and experience requirements include: four years business/accounting degree plus minimum of four years construction office management experience or equivalent combinations of training and experience. Extensive knowledge of standard accounting procedures, company policies and procedures, purchasing and receiving procedures, cost control, and office administration required. Proficient communication and organizational skills essential.
