Overview

The Office Engineer (OE) supports the execution of field work by managing project administration activities. This role involves trade partner and supplier management, contract changes, scheduling, financial tracking, and project reporting. The OE participates in safety and quality control activities while assisting project engineers in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Location & Relocation

This role is based in Douglas, AZ, and requires relocation to the Sierra Vista, AZ area. Candidates should be open to relocating to ensure accessibility to the project site and the surrounding region. Relocation assistance may be discussed during the hiring process.

Essential Duties

  • Support field operations through materials management to maintain schedule and sequencing
  • Supervise trade partner employees involved in the submittal and shop drawing process
  • Review and approve submittals, shop drawings, and product data
  • Create and process RFIs in a solutions-oriented manner
  • Process subcontract bonds, insurance, pay applications, correspondence, and change orders
  • Assist in preparing the monthly owner pay application and margin analysis
  • Participate in jobsite safety meetings, weekly safety audits, and inspections
  • Support the quality control plan and participate in preparatory meetings, inspections, and follow-up reviews
  • Contribute to BIM and VDC coordination meetings, generating RFIs, and reviewing shop drawings from the coordinated model

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Civil, Structural, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field
  • 1 year of experience and/or a combination of education and experience
  • Valid driver\'s license
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel-based templates), ProjectSight, Primavera, and AutoDesk Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior construction industry internships (preferred but not required)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000 (based on experience and qualifications)
