Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the accounting team to achieve accurate and timely financial statements and monthly management accounts for schools within the Americas region.
  • Manage full accounting responsibilities for designated schools or business units as required, including review of balance sheet reconciliations for non-centralised schools.
  • Prepare journal entries, financial statements, account reconciliations, and analysis for schools.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting, including monthly variance analysis.
  • Assist with capital expenditure and fixed asset accounting.
  • Reconcile inter-company accounts between schools and support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Collaborate with schools on all accounting and finance matters; analyze trends, costs, revenues, and financial commitments to support school finance teams and FP&A.
  • Analyze accounting data to support insightful decision making and prepare schedules for annual audit; provide support as needed.
  • Ensure department transactions comply with company controls and policies; undertake ad hoc projects as assigned.
  • Develop the skillset of school finance personnel through training and act as an ambassador for employee engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 2 years’ experience in financial reporting and general accounting. Public accounting background is a plus.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of accounting systems required.
  • Microsoft Dynamics / Navision experience is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; outstanding attention to detail; able to build relationships and work with others.
  • Willingness to “roll up your sleeves” to complete projects; bilingual (desired); CPA (desired).
