We are seeking a friendly, experienced, and energetic barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Job Title: Barista - Starbucks
Location: Hyatt Regency Indianapolis

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and espresso drinks, along with other beverages and light snacks.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar area.
• Engage with guests, taking orders, answering questions, and providing recommendations.
• Handle cash and operate the Micros computer system efficiently.
• Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
• Uphold Starbucks' standards for hospitality and service excellence.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous barista experience and knowledge of coffee-making terminology required. Prior experience as a server is helpful but not mandatory.
• Communication: Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. Ability to effectively communicate with guests and team members.
• Customer Service: Strong hospitality skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
• Technical Skills: Experience with the Micros computer system is preferred.
• Cash Handling: Prior experience handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system is required.
• Age Requirement: Must meet the minimum age requirement of the jurisdiction.

Physical Guidelines:

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, typically 6-8 hours per shift.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Manual dexterity required to operate coffee-making equipment and perform cleaning tasks.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constant movement.

Work Hours:

• Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
