Responsibilities

• Work with Project and Fleet Managers to assess equipment needs and repair problems using cost-effective practices.
• Monitor and schedule preventative maintenance and repair operations.
• Maintain and provide a report of all repairs and maintenance actions including parts and labor time for each piece of equipment.
• Stay within monthly and yearly shop budgets.
• Perform mechanical work using conventional hand and power tools in a safe and productive manner.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and proactively maintain fleet and equipment.
• Run equipment and service truck for repairs outside of shop and facility needs.
• General shop and office upkeep.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working on medium duty trucks and arbor-specific equipment.
• Experience with equipment such as aerial lifts, wood chippers, skid steers, dingo’s, backpack blowers, ATVs, UTVs, etc.
• Strong experience with engine repairs on International, Cummins, Cat, etc.
• Proficiency in using computer diagnostics software to pinpoint engine, hydraulic, electrical, or electronic issues.
• Ability to manage workload in warm weather for long hours.
• Ability to order parts as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Thorough knowledge of arbor equipment and small equipment including aerial lifts, wood chippers, skid steers, dingo’s, backpack blowers, string trimmers, ATVs, UTVs, etc.
• Knowledge of aerial lifts, wood chippers and safe operating procedures.
• Strong communication, conflict resolution, and critical thinking skills.
• Efficient multi-tasking ability.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and internal programs.
• Valid Driver's License (CDL preferred) and ability to meet company driver eligibility guidelines.
