Company: Qualcomm Incorporated Job Area: Finance & Accounting Group, Finance & Accounting Group > Accounting General Summary: Located in San Diego, the Manager of Accounting is a key leader within our Record to Report Accounting team. The Manager will be responsible for: accounting for global cost and operating expenses including labor, benefits, services and key SOX controls and policies/processes for financial reporting as well as preparing, reviewing, analyzing and presenting financial data used in the preparation of our 10Q and 10K SEC filings. This position will partner with the San Diego and Hyderabad Record to Report teams and collaborate frequently with accounting and finance teams in the US, India, EMEA, APAC and China. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. 8+ years of Accounting, Finance, or related work experience. Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience. Primary responsibilities include: Functioning as the Manager for general accounting, supporting the Operational Process Owner and Global Process Owner in leading and guiding a global, matrixed accounting team Managing processes and controls for financial reporting, including journal entries and account reconciliations Ensuring timely, accurate and complete accounting for global costs and operating expenses Partnering with Technical Accounting to ensure proper accounting for new and/or unusual transactions Preparing, reviewing and analyzing financial data, statements and schedules used in the preparation of our quarterly 10Q and annual 10K Preparing, analyzing and presenting financial data in quarterly meetings Engaging with and influencing multiple global stakeholders across Accounting, Finance, Tax, Legal, IT, Procurement, Marketing, Engineering, Human Resources and Facilities Identifying and implementing automation and process improvements Support for M&A activity and transactions The successful candidate will have the energy and drive to operate in a fast-paced and innovative environment. Travel to India required. Minimum Qualifications: 12+ years of accounting or finance experience in a global environment Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to clearly articulate complex processes to audiences with differing levels of understanding Ability to lead cross functional teams and actively manage teams to complete projects and tasks Driven and prepared to take a hands-on and pro-active approach Ability to operate in a diverse, matrixed, global environment across multiple time zones Preferred Qualifications: Experience with US based multinational companies and shared service environments Demonstrated skill with systems implementation and process improvements International and multi-unit business experience is highly desired Experience with Oracle enterprise software Education Requirements: Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance CPA is preferred Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
