Job Description
Responsibilities include scheduling production and coordinating customer orders to meet delivery requirements. Managing production employees with effective leadership skills, operating the extrusion line, batching ingredients, preparing blends, and inspecting final products. Oversee and coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor regarding repair and maintenance issues on shop and production equipment, facilities, and vehicles. Responsible for researching, conducting cost analysis, and implementing automation strategies to improve efficiency and production, working closely with the Production Manager. Collaborate with the lab to ensure product quality meets all standards. Requisition materials for production and replacement parts for equipment repairs or subcontractors. Prepare necessary paperwork and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Manufacturing experience: 2 years
- Supervisory experience: 1 year
- Managerial experience is essential
- Plastic extrusion or operator experience
- Ingredient batching experience (a plus)
- Maintenance experience with plastics processing machinery (a plus)
- Basic computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, climb portable steps and raised platforms
- Forklift operation experience
- Ability to wear and pass a fit test for a negative pressure respirator
- Knowledge of resins, pigments, colorants, and additives (a plus)
- Molding machine experience (beneficial)
- Excellent vision
