Position

PRODUCTION COACH — Hammond, Indiana, Hammond Plant

Responsibilities

  • As a member of the Operations team, the Production Coach will be responsible for maintaining the operation and availability of machines, tools, automation, and support mechanisms.
  • Supervising the implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance of all production equipment to achieve product quality and production volume, respecting deadlines and costs.
  • Establishing plans to improve the availability of equipment.
  • Supply and development of technical production equipment: assign necessary tools for each production equipment; launch orders to ensure spare part changes.
  • Corrective Maintenance: organize and coordinate all tasks assigned to corrective maintenance technicians; determine intervention priorities.
  • Preventive Maintenance: develop preventive maintenance plans, specifying intervention frequencies.
  • Coordination: collaborate with the HSE manager to ensure equipment meets environmental, health, and safety standards; establish purchase orders for items needed for maintenance; ensure proper management of the spare parts store; supervise maintenance work; analyze spare parts consumption and intervention reports; comply with HSE rules per ISO 14001.
  • Supervisory responsibilities per organizational policies: training employees; planning, directing, and evaluating work; addressing complaints; coaching Team Leads; daily meetings with Team Leads.
  • Inspect products for conformance to specifications; direct setup and adjustment of machines.
  • Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements.
  • Interpret company policies, enforce safety regulations, and adjust procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality; suggest changes to increase efficiency.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems; motivate workers; maintain attendance, time, and production records; manage materials and identify problems related to product, process, and quality system.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors, vendors, and suppliers; maintain plant equipment records and layouts; review development projects for infrastructure needs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery methods and procedures.

Your Qualifications

  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, specifically Excel and Word for production reporting and documentation.
  • Problem solving proficiency, including basic PDCA, Fishbone, 5 Why, Kaizen.
  • Ability to operate HR software to document attendance, payroll, etc.; ability to use ERP and MES software proficiently (AS400).

Bonus If You Have

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in maintenance coordination or a similar role.
