Marathon Staffing is seeking reliable, qualified candidates for a Direct Hire Production Planner position in Lynchburg, VA.

The Production Planner will handle demand-based planning, including manufacturing planning, scheduling, expediting products, and managing inventories. The role involves coordinating with purchasing, inventory control, production, quality, and shipping to ensure 100% on-time delivery. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player with strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Accountabilities include:

  1. Planning and scheduling product lines based on capacity and material availability.
  2. Scheduling and issuing work orders for manufacturing and spare parts.
  3. Reviewing material availability before production.
  4. Revising schedules based on material and labor availability.
  5. Ensuring planning supports demand within lead times.
  6. Assisting in daily/weekly build plans to meet shipment goals.
  7. Coordinating delivery promises and customer inquiries with Customer Service.
  8. Identifying opportunities to shorten customer lead times.
  9. Analyzing demand patterns for capacity planning adjustments.
  10. Monitoring Engineering Change Notices impacting work orders.
  11. Addressing demand, capacity, and lead time issues raised by various departments.
  12. Maintaining Item Master Data based on forecasts.
  13. Communicating production schedules and issues across departments.
  14. Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Operations Management, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in production planning or related fields.
  • APICS Certification (CPIM or CSCP).
  • ERP/MRP experience.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience with capacity planning, data analysis, and scheduling.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 1st Shift, flexible with client.

Salary: $100,000 - $115,000 annually, depending on experience, with comprehensive benefits starting day one, including health insurance, life insurance, retirement plan, educational assistance, and paid time off.
