Responsibilities

Summary: The Production Supervisor will be responsible for leading and motivating the production team to exceed commitments and goals, monitoring day-to-day production activities to ensure production efficiency goals are met, safety protocols followed, and quality product is produced timely and meeting customer expectations. Directly supervises 20-30 hourly employees. Plans and controls production performance against targets. Ensures compliance to customer quality and production standards. Actively leads plant safety, housekeeping, 5S and lean initiatives, and cost savings. Ensures completion of required paperwork, schedules, work orders, etc.

  • Planning, organizing, executing and leading all assigned areas within the plant
  • Accountable to plan and execute to meet safety, quality, delivery, production, cost and communication objectives
  • Meet production schedules within budgeted allocation
  • Ensure appropriate on-the-job training and development of crew members
  • Address mechanical, operational, and technical downtime issues
  • Train, motivate and mentor employees
  • Conduct training of new and existing employees
  • Supervise employees in day-to-day operations to ensure safety, quality and productivity
  • Maintain and improve production throughput and manage direct labor costs
  • Provide support for on-the-job assignments and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure Company policies, safety, quality procedures, and GMPs are implemented and followed
  • Maintain a positive working environment
  • Maintain all required logs and reporting documentation and adhere to safety procedures
  • Adhere to all Company safety regulations and policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A four-year degree is preferred, or equivalent work-related experience
  • Experience in Blown Film Industry preferred; extrusion or printing background advantageous
  • Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement experience a plus
  • Experience with problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 5 Why, 8D) a plus
  • Technical training in mechanical and/or electrical fields a plus
  • Industrial Safety Training a plus
  • Minimum 3+ years in a supervisory role with background in blown film or extrusion/printing operations
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing facility preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a changing environment with strong problem-solving skills
  • Team player with initiative
  • Results-driven, capable of making effective decisions
  • Desire to train, coach and develop others
  • Ability to work any shift as needed
  • Maintenance and mechanical ability to troubleshoot
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills
