ICU RN Details
- Location: Albemarle, North Carolina 28001
- Healthcare Setting: Medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
- Start Date: October 20, 2025
- End Date: January 17, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
- Holiday Coverage: 75% of holidays required
- Scrub Color: Navy (white or navy undershirt; no T-shirts or Crocs)
- Parking: Free onsite parking
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1570 - $1680 per week
ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum 18 months to 2 years of recent ICU RN experience
- Proficiency in stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, ART lines, CVPs, critical care drips, chest tubes, PIV starts, TNK administration, ventilator management, trach care, NGT placement, drain/tube management, PCA pumps, wound care, and 12-lead EKGs
- Ability to float within the region (Med/Tele, ICU, PCU, ED holds, Behavioral Health for med pass/charting)
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Strong communication skills and openness to constructive feedback
ICU RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate care to ICU and Med/Tele patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, COPD, CHF, MI, stroke, and respiratory illnesses
- Manage patient assignments of 2-3 patients per shift, based on acuity
- Perform NIH stroke assessments and participate in comprehensive stroke care
- Administer and titrate critical care and cardiac drips, blood products, and medications
- Monitor and interpret telemetry for the unit
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including house supervisors, charge nurses, respiratory therapists, and hospitalists
- Float to other units or facilities within the region as needed, within scope of practice
- Participate in orientation and adhere to all facility policies and procedures
