Nurses are trained in caring for patients with balloon-pumps and Impella devices. RNs utilize hypothermic protocols in post-arrest patients. Sinai-Grace operates over 21 outpatient care sites and ambulatory surgery centers across Wayne and Oakland Counties. It is one of 10 hospitals nationwide awarded a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant to develop cardiac care standards.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse (RN) is part of the Patient Care Services Team, responsible for the nursing care provided by the team. The RN manages and delivers patient care activities for a group of patients and their families, using independent judgment, effective communication, and collaboration with team members, including ancillary and support staff. The RN’s role encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, teaching, and supervision.

The DMC RN:

1. Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers.
2. Delegates, assesses, provides, and evaluates patient care.
3. Delegates patient care activities to team members.
4. Monitors patient progress and prepares patients for discharge.
5. Reports directly to senior unit management and participates in shared decision-making.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The DMC RN is responsible for leading and managing patient care activities, collaborating with healthcare teams, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met. The RN reports to senior management and participates in shared decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from a school of nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Licensed to practice as an RN in Michigan required.
• AHA BLS certification required.
