Job Details

Travel ER RN for a 13-week assignment in Austin, TX. As a member of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to make a positive impact on patients while enjoying competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and patient-focused support.

Required Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as an ER RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• Current PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• TNCC, NIHSS, CPI, NRP and SANE certifications
• Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position

Essential Responsibilities

• Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on severity
• Explain emergency procedures and treatments to patients and families
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per emergency nursing protocols
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during emergency treatments and examinations
• Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout the ED stay
• Observe and document patient conditions within scope of practice
• Take and monitor vital signs and address deviations
• Respond to life-saving situations per emergency nursing standards
• Document comprehensive nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EMR
• Initiate patient education plans based on acute care needs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care
• Adhere to safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
• Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice

Required Essential Skills

• Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; PC skills
• Physical ability to move and lift equipment (50-100 lbs)
• Ability to work with a variety of healthcare staff
• Technical/motor skills for procedures and equipment
• Mental ability to work under pressure and manage irregular schedules
• Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication
