Eaton is hiring: Forklift Driver/Material Handler in Reno

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is seeking a Forklift Driver/Material Handler. The core hours are 2:15pm to 10:45pm, with an hourly rate of $22.00.

What You’ll Do

• Operate a forklift to move raw materials, components, supplies, and finished goods.
• Load and unload trailers as required.
• Pick and pull stock for delivery.
• Organize pallet area in the backyard on a regular basis.
• Organize material storage locations in backyard and inside the building on a regular basis.
• Complete daily forklift inspection.
• Primary owner for recycling duties for assigned area.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise.
• Keep work areas clean and safe.
• Support all facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives.
• Maintain 5-S throughout shop floor and office areas.
• Track and sustain all visual management tools.
• Encourage, support, and participate in Kaizen improvements and events.
• Other various duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

• A minimum 6 months of previous forklift or material handling experience in a manufacturing or logistics setting.
• Must possess a valid and current driver’s license.
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position; only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Reno, NV will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year+ of previous forklift or material handling experience in a manufacturing or logistics setting.

Position Criteria

• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format in English.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends with little advanced notice.
• Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift.
• Able to regularly lift 35 pounds without assistance; occasionally lift more than 35 lbs. with assistance.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure.
