Day-in-the-Life: Keep Tucson’s Fleet Moving
Start your morning in our Tucson, AZ shop reviewing the day’s service tickets. You’ll prep your tools, check parts availability, and head to your first assignment—sometimes in the shop, sometimes out in the field—diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on gas, diesel, and electric forklifts and related heavy equipment. This is a repair-and-maintenance position, not an operator role.
What You’ll Tackle
- Execute preventive maintenance and corrective repairs across diverse forklift models and material handling equipment (gas, diesel, electric).
- Diagnose faults in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to restore peak performance and safety.
- Perform inspections and functional testing to identify issues before they escalate.
- Document work performed, parts utilized, and timelines accurately and promptly.
- Respond to both shop and field service calls as needed.
- Collaborate with teammates to improve reliability, reduce downtime, and share best practices.
- Stay current on emerging technologies and trends in material handling.
- Follow OSHA safety standards and company policies while keeping a clean, organized workspace.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; trade or vocational training in mechanics preferred.
- 8+ years as a forklift mechanic or heavy equipment technician.
- Deep knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and service manuals.
- Strong diagnostic mindset, attention to detail, and solid organization.
- Comfort working independently and within a team environment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record; company vehicle may be provided for field assignments.
- Prefer candidates who bring their own tools.
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- OEM training or certifications (e.g., Toyota, Hyster, Crown).
- ASE or comparable mechanical certifications.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.

Base pay range: $38.00/hr - $50.00/hr
