Basic Qualifications: U.S. Citizenship Required. Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance. Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of experience or Masters degree and 10 years or or Associate’s degree and 14 years’ experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 16 years experience. Experience leading design and/or build for large scaleconstruction projects. Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and safety regulations. Proficiency in construction management software (Primavera P6, MS Project, Procore, or equivalent). Familiarity with federal acquisition regulations (FAR) for construction projects. Familiarity with HVAC, electrical, cabling, and physical infrastructure supporting technical facilities. Strong background in safety management systems (SMS) and OSHA compliance. Knowledge of sustainability practices and resiliency standards in construction. Proven success in risk management, audit readiness, and documentation control. Preferred Qualifications: Direct FAA or NAS configuration management experience. Advanced degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline. Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), CCM (Certified Construction Manager), or PE (Professional Engineer). Experience managing FAA, DOT, DHS, or other federal agency infrastructure projects. Familiarity with NextGen FAA modernization programs and facility dependencies. Background in green building, LEED certification, or energy efficiency projects. Experience coordinating large-scale renovations while maintaining operational continuity. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills. We are seeking aConstruction Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will oversee and coordinate facility construction, upgrades, and infrastructure modernization projects in support of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In this role, you will provide technical oversight, project leadership, and contractor management, ensuring all construction activities meet FAA standards for safety, quality, and compliance.This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain in-depth experience in federal contracting while supporting high-visibility aviation programs. In this position, you will: Manage and oversee FAA construction projects from planning through execution, ensuring compliance with scope, budget, and schedule. Provide technical oversight of contractors and subcontractors, verifying adherence to FAA standards, building codes, and federal regulations. Lead the preparation, review, and approval of construction schedules, cost estimates, and design packages. Monitor project progress, perform site inspections, and ensure safety and quality standards are met. Coordinate with FAA stakeholders, engineering teams, and facility managers to integrate construction activities with ongoing operations. Resolve construction-related issues, change orders, and design conflicts in collaboration with architects and engineers. Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and audit-ready records of project activities. Ensure construction activities comply with OSHA safety standards, FAA guidelines, and environmental regulations. Oversee contractor performance and risk management, identifying and mitigating issues early. Prepare and present status updates, risk reports, and recommendations to FAA leadership. Responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring construction projects from inception to completion, aligning with FAA mission objectives and modernization initiatives. Interpret and apply engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents. Prepare Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs)and supporting contract modifications.
