Engaging in all aspects of civil litigation, from inception through trial, settlement, or appeal Investigating facts and analyzing documentary evidence Appearing in all levels of state and federal courts Exercising independence and initiative in cases involving cutting-edge issues of Constitutional Law and Civil Rights Carrying a caseload while working collaboratively with supervisors and colleagues to achieve excellent results for the State of California Traveling as necessary for depositions, witness interviews, client meetings, and site inspections inside correctional institutions statewide Position Details

New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable. Shall Consider: Deputy Attorney General, Deputy Attorney General II, Deputy Attorney General IV with respective ranges as listed in the original description. Ham (Hiring Above Minimum) policy applies to Deputy Attorney General classifications. The Starting Salary For Each Classification Will Be: Deputy Attorney General Range A (0-24 months): $8,846; Range B (2-5 years): $9,956; Deputy Attorney General III (5 years): $12,046; Deputy Attorney General IV (6+ years): $13,313. Location, Schedule, and Work Arrangement
