Senior Surface Warfare Combat Training Continuum (SWCTC) Analyst

to support the Commander Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC). This role plays a critical part in SMWDC’s mission to enhance the lethality and tactical readiness of the Surface Force across all domains. The Analyst will support SMWDC’s four main lines of operation—Advanced Tactical Training, Doctrine and Tactical Guidance Development, Operational Support, and Capability Assessment / Experimentation / Requirements. Travel may be required for this position. SMWDC’s mission is realized through four primary lines of operation: Advanced Tactical Training Doctrine and Tactical Guidance Development Operational Support Capability Assessment, Experimentation, and Requirements SMWDC’s Subject Matter Experts are essential in advancing these objectives through individual and group instruction, training assessment, support for the Warfare Tactics Instructor (WTI) program, and the development of operational/tactical doctrine. Support services for SMWDC are required across multiple sites, including: SMWDC Headquarters (HQ) in San Diego, CA Mine Warfare (MIW) Division, San Diego, CA Sea Combat (SC) Division, San Diego, CA Integrated Air & Missile Defense (IAMD) Division, Dahlgren, VA Amphibious Warfare (AMW) Division, Little Creek, VA Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Provide expert analysis and support for fleet readiness evaluation, warfighting capability assessment, and review of tactical publications Support training instructions such as the Surface Force Training and Readiness Manual (SFTRM) Analyze and manage data within electronic training database systems, including RADM, TORIS/TFOM, and FLTMPS Ensure alignment with SMWDC objectives through training assessment, operational doctrine review, and curriculum support Collaborate with Afloat Training Group, Surface Warfare Officer School, and other major Navy commands to maintain high training standards Requirements Experience : Minimum of 12 years of experience with the surface Navy’s combat systems, C5I, networks, and weapons systems - 5 years of this experience shall be as military personnel At least 4 years of recent experience leading and training functional teams in warfare related topics with a level of responsibility equivalent to a SWO Department Head tour Expert understanding of all tactical warfare publications (i.e. NTTPs, NWPs, OPTASKs, and TACMEMOs) At least 4 years experience in the practical application of applicable tactical warfare publications at sea Recent experience working in or with the training department of Afloat Training Group, Surface Warfare Officer School or major Navy staff (Commander Naval Surface Forces Pacific/Commander Naval Surface Forces Atlantic/Numbered Fleet) Experience drafting U.S. Navy documents and administrivia products (i.e. instructions, TACMEMOs, publications, naval messages, etc.) Working knowledge of basic analysis using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power BI, Qlik, Databricks, Tableau, and/or Python (with Pandas, Matplotlib, NumPy, SciPy, Seaborn, etc.) Preferred Attributes Qualified TAO Qualified BMD Watch Officer Aegis AAWC Working knowledge using JIRA (or similar software) for agile team management Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on training readiness and tactical proficiency Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively support collaborative work with Navy training departments and commands Education: Master’s Degree in a STEM or training-analysis related subject,
