Job Description Why We Need You

Join our dynamic Product Development team as a

Senior Actuary , where you will play a key role in driving profitability assessments, process improvements, and strategic decision-making. You will shape financial strategies and optimize insurance products to meet market demands. Your analytical expertise will be vital in leveraging data-driven insights to enhance decision-making and growth. This role is ideal for experienced actuaries skilled in pricing, reserving, and modeling, who also enjoy mentoring and contributing to impactful projects.

Responsibilities

Lead loss reserving to analyze trends and ensure financial stability.

Use advanced actuarial techniques for pricing analysis and drive process automation.

Develop sophisticated actuarial models with predictive techniques and statistical analysis.

Collaborate on product decisions, analyzing impacts with actuarial insights.

Oversee regulatory filings, ensuring compliance.

Contribute to the company’s forecast and identify emerging risks.

Mentor junior team members and support high-impact initiatives.

Act as a consultant for complex mathematical, statistical, and modeling issues.

Uphold PEMCO’s policies, values, and ethical standards.

Support PEMCO’s brand and mission to Worry Less and Live More.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

B.A. or B.S. in Mathematics or related field or equivalent experience.

8+ years in property casualty actuarial work, with broad experience in rate-making.

Strong technical skills and programming experience.

Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS).

Detail-oriented with a desire for accuracy.

Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.

Knowledge of Mathematics, Statistics, and Modeling; skilled in Python, R, SAS, SQL.

Ability to analyze large datasets and derive insights.

Understanding of industry trends and the ability to adapt strategies.
