Etched . About Etched Etched is building AI chips that are hard-coded for individual model architectures. Our first product (Sohu) supports transformers and offers significantly higher throughput and lower latency than traditional GPUs. Our ASICs enable products like real-time video generation and deep reasoning models that are impossible with GPUs. Role Overview As an RTL Design Engineer, you will ensure our AI chips operate correctly and efficiently by developing and implementing design verification strategies for current and future ASIC designs. You will collaborate with teams working on state-of-the-art machine learning architectures. While experience with these architectures is not required, a willingness to learn quickly is essential. You will operate in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of autonomy, contributing to Etched’s success. Representative Projects Implement blocks for efficient floating point math operations Provide feedback to the uArch team to meet timing and area constraints You May Be a Good Fit If You Have at least 5 years of RTL development experience Have experience with high-speed digital logic Are proficient with standard RTL design and synthesis tools Have familiarity with verification work and writing test benches Are eager to learn about transformers and AI technologies Are ready to start quickly Strong Candidates May Also Have Experience With PCIe, Ethernet, or HBM technologies Transformer models and machine learning Numerical representations and functions Programming with Python or other scripting languages We encourage applicants even if they do not meet every qualification. How We’re Different Etched believes in the Bitter Lesson—progress in AI comes from leveraging more FLOPs through model-specific hardware. Our team in Cupertino values engineering skills and integrates research and engineering efforts, contributing to both as needed.
