Director of Finance position at Loews Hotels & Co (Loews Atlanta Hotel). This role provides leadership in the financial operation of the hotel, delivering accurate and timely financial reports to support management decision making, maintaining internal controls, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. Manage and oversee the accounting department to ensure efficient financial operations and adherence to Loews management contract commitments. Direct or prepare all financial reports, ledger reviews and forecast distributions to support management decision-making and budget processes. Oversee preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements and present findings to management. Monitor revenues and expenses and ensure accurate recording according to Loews guidelines. Compile financial data, investigate variances, determine causes, and recommend appropriate management actions to meet financial objectives. Establish and audit internal financial controls including purchasing, cash handling, payroll, asset inventories, and related records to enforce Loews standards. Coordinate annual internal and external audit processes. Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of EDP systems and equipment. Assist management in capital planning by providing ROI information. Coordinate the development of the annual financial plan and assist department heads in budget preparation. Maintain files related to insurance policies, contracts, and legal agreements; ensure timely payments of licenses, permits, regulatory contracts, and taxes. Participate as an active member of the Executive Committee and attend related meetings. Attend departmental meetings to maintain working relationships with operations staff. Approve purchase orders, payroll submissions, transfers, journal entries, and other financial transactions as needed. Direct cash management activities to ensure funds are available when needed. Provide guidance on technical issues affecting departments reporting to the Credit Manager. Conduct or supervise monthly audits of cash vaults and related controls. Hire, train, coach, evaluate, and discipline accounting personnel according to Loews standards. Participate in New Hire Training and ongoing Star Service Competency programs. Evaluate employee performance and identify development needs and advancement opportunities. Participate in MOD program as required. Assess guest needs, mix, and competitive set to recommend product/service and operational changes to maintain market leadership and guest/employee satisfaction. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Extensive knowledge of computer-based front and back-of-house accounting management systems. Proficiency in Windows, Excel, MS Office software, and related applications. Ability to assemble, analyze, and present integrated spreadsheets and complex financial information to management. Strong organization and prioritization skills to meet deadlines. Effective management, leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Working knowledge of standard office equipment (fax, copiers, printers, calculators). Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting/Finance. Experience
