Our Impact Corporate Treasury Operations is a subdivision of Corporate Treasury. Our primary objectives are to lead the development of new payments-centric businesses, while building scale and improving agility to adapt to a rapidly changing payment landscape; act as a first line of defense for control and governance to protect the firm’s financial assets; and incorporate differentiated client service to be best in class. The team has a global presence with offices in multiple locations and works closely together as a global team. The subdivision supports products and businesses ranging across existing and new business lines, multiple payment types, and multiple client types, including franchise/institutional, consumer and corporate cash management sectors. We manage a wide range of complex processes, with members developing skills around cash management (payment controls, bank account management, settlements and reconciliations, claims), change management, regulatory requirements, and industry trends. How You Will Fulfill Your Potential Lead, mentor and develop a diverse team of professionals responsible for payment clearing, settlements and reconciliations of our Corporate, Retail, and Affiliate client flows. Manage performance and provide opportunities for growth and career progression. Gain a solid understanding of various payment rails utilized by the firm like ACH, FEDWIRE, Checks, SWIFT, CHAPS, SEPA, FPS, RTP, etc. and apply the knowledge to lead/innovate in a dynamic and evolving banking landscape to optimize payment efficiency and reduce operational risks; measure impact through key metrics such as OKRs or KRIs. Oversee day-to-day execution of operational controls to ensure timely settlement of payments across rails, accurate reconciliation of books, and prompt resolution of process exceptions; perform BAU approvals. Contribute to the development of a robust and resilient control framework that enables effective risk management through proactive detection, prevention and mitigation measures for the firm and clients. Collaborate with stakeholders across Corporate Treasury and lines of business (Legal, Compliance, Product, Engineering) to enhance payment infrastructure, integrate new technologies, improve efficiency and deliver client service. Participate in recruitment of top talent to align with the division’s long-term goals. Engage with the firm’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) and participate in audits to ensure adherence with payment scheme rules and banking regulatory requirements. Manage and monitor key performance indicators related to payment processing including transaction success rates and throughput; communicate metrics to senior leadership. Skills We Are Looking For Bachelor’s Degree or higher Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial services, specifically control-side Operations Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills Understanding of global payment systems, regulatory frameworks and emerging financial technologies Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining integrity and delivering excellence Proven track record in balancing competing priorities with deadlines without compromising quality Flexible, proactive problem solving and adaptability Effective risk management with attention to detail and sound judgment Ability to foster a positive, inclusive team environment with strong communication Strong networking and influencing skills Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with business intelligence tools for automation and reporting Ability to articulate technical content in simple language Curiosity and openness to distill ambiguity and deliver results Preferred Qualifications 10+ years’ experience in payments, cash management, or liquidity functions in a product development or change management capacity Experience gathering and documenting requirements with full testing traceability Prior experience working for a large bank Experience working with external banks, payment networks, and vendors Strong judgment, problem-solving, and adaptability to change Ability to analyze complex issues and identify clear solutions Comprehensive stakeholder networking and influence abilities Experience in large-scale transformation programs | payments modernization Benefits Goldman Sachs is committed to providing our people with valuable and competitive benefits and wellness offerings.
