Managers in Training will learn how to manage day-to-day responsibilities of running an EG America convenience store with guidance from senior leaders. You will train with a Training Manager and Supervising Manager, work varied shifts, and learn about our company, our retail team, our vendors and our guests. This role supports the Store Manager and other team members in delivering an exceptional guest shopping experience. What You’ll Do
Greet Guests with a warm welcome and a smile, delivering exceptional customer service. Assist Store Manager with building and developing a strong store team: training, scheduling, coaching, and communicating effectively; set clear goals and hold self and others accountable. Monitor product levels on the sales floor, rotate stock, and ensure 100% in-stock availability. Oversee quality control, merchandising, and food safety programs in locations offering hot food. Maintain store appearance and cleanliness, including coffee station, food service area, bathrooms, and other areas; delegate tasks as needed. Operate the cash register efficiently. In hot food locations, assist the Store Manager with quality control, merchandising, safety programs, and other guidelines for food service operation. Perform other duties as assigned. Note: Our doors are open to guests rain or shine, including weekends and holidays. All team members contribute to delivering the best experience for guests. Training Process
During official training weeks, Managers In Training work with Training Managers to learn best practices for managing a convenience store. During supervisory weeks, MTs work a variety of shifts to apply leadership training. After training, MTs join our bench leadership team and may fill in during absences until assigned to their own store. There are growth opportunities within EG America, which operates nearly 1,700 locations across the United States. Qualifications
Minimum Education:
High School or GED Minimum Experience:
1 year of retail or food experience Preferred Experience:
1 year in retail, guest service or restaurant in a leadership role Preferred Licenses/Certifications:
ServSafe / Food Safety certification is a plus but not mandatory Soft Skills
Comfortable talking with guests and team members High energy Ability to move between activities quickly Team oriented; willing to give extra effort to help others Computer skills are helpful Scheduling and Hours
This full-time position involves a variety of hours (day and night) as EG America locations can be open 24 hours depending on the store. Weekend and holiday hours are required. Travel
5% travel; ability to deliver deposits to the bank independently (where applicable) and have own vehicle to do so. Physical Requirements
Ability to maneuver and lift up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 40 pounds occasionally. Able to stand/walk for 8 hours, reach overhead, bend, squat, twist, reach, grasp and work in cooler temperatures. The work environment is usually moderate in noise level. Other
