Adjunct Pool - Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy Program
The Cal Lutheran Graduate School of Psychology invites applications for part-time adjunct faculty positions for the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. New applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. Applicants will be contacted by the Program Director based upon need and applicant qualifications. California Lutheran University is an accredited, private, comprehensive university located midway between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. Basic Function : Under the direction of the Dean, Department Chair or Program Director, the Adjunct Faculty Member is responsible for providing academic instruction to students for the assigned graduate courses. Provide academic instruction to students through lecture, lab, or performance courses Assess and develop cognitive abilities, communication skills, and higher order thinking skills among students through appropriate assignments and activities Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study, other institutions of higher education, lifelong learning resources, and effective study skills Observe and evaluate student performance in meeting course objectives and student learning outcomes Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes Maintain current, accurate records of course enrollment, attendance, student academic progress, course curriculum, and student learning outcomes Knowledge Of : Current theory and practice within the subject discipline, principles and best practices of effective teaching Ability To : Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge in the subject field or discipline, deliver course curricula in various learning styles, exhibit sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, social, economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of University students Minimum Qualifications : Possession of a master's degree from a graduate institution of recognized standing or equivalent experience and professional recognition. Practice in providing clinical services as an MFT. Preferred Qualifications : Doctoral degree in a discipline related to MFT and knowledge and experience using family systems theory.
