Sr. Specialist - Diagnostic Development at American Honda Motor Company, Inc. Job purpose: The Senior Diagnostics Development Specialist assists in meeting division objectives of Fixed First Visit and Customer Service Retention by ensuring Honda Auto, Acura, Motorcycle, Power Equipment, and Marine dealers are equipped with the necessary diagnostic solutions to service our vehicles and products prior to new model and market action launch. They have an expert-level understanding of vehicle OBD systems and the diagnostic scan tools they interface with, to lead development direction to provide high quality, efficient, and cost-effective solutions for dealership technicians. Key Accountabilities

Function as delivery team lead for current and next generation diagnostics projects, ensuring adherence to development schedule and strong communication between stakeholders Lead quality validation of all candidate diagnostic software builds through rigorous testing and collaboration with development managers, Tier 1 suppliers, and internal stakeholders, ensuring timely production deployment Chair weekly meetings with internal stakeholders and suppliers to understand market needs, communicate project status, and provide technical data Author and publish/deploy clear communications that support diagnostic tools for both dealer and aftermarket users Qualifications, Experience, And Skills

BS degree in Automotive Technology or relevant engineering field Equivalent work experience Computer Network certification or equivalent experience Four plus years in the automotive industry and/or three plus years automotive diagnostic technician experience using OE diagnostic tools and/or five plus years proficiency with Microsoft Windows OS and Office suite applications Strong leadership, analytical, project management, and organizational skills Strong written, oral, and executive presentation skills Deep understanding of Right to Repair legislation, SAE J2534 standards, and OEM compliance obligations Expert comprehension of vehicle system architecture, communication protocols, OBD systems, and vehicle communication interfaces Intermediate understanding of various data schema types (database, XML, JSON, etc.) and programming languages What differentiates Honda
