Product Owners are responsible for defining requirements, assisting with the overall product roadmap/vision, and driving value at the scrum team level. They are the voice of the customer, ensuring end-user needs are incorporated from design to deployment, and are responsible for authoring functional user stories used to support day-to-day development of new features and capabilities. There is a need for an IT Product Owner who possesses the technical expertise to manage the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and ITOM Products within ServiceNow. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that planned work maintains data integrity and consistency across the organization, supporting the service catalog and enabling accurate and standardized reporting capabilities at the enterprise level. The ideal candidate should have experience in data modeling, asset management, and service management, particularly in ServiceNow. They should be skilled at collaborating with technical stakeholders and prioritizing foundational needs of the platform to promote stability and scalability. ROLE Provides data governance practices to maintain data accuracy, integrity, and completeness within the CMDB and ITOM. Develops and enforces change management processes for the CMDB to ensure updates are tracked and approved. Determines features and dependencies that rely on foundational data elements of the CMDB and ITOM and prioritizes work based on impact and value. Ensures reporting standards are maintained at enterprise level and enforces the data model for users and implementers within the platform. Identifies risks impacting timely delivery of features and collaborates with team members to prepare mitigation strategies. Collaborates with technology stakeholders to define new or enhanced product requirements and functionality. Shares feedback with team members regarding sprint deliverables during retrospectives. Manages remediation of defects raised during the development lifecycle. Adheres to software quality assurance standards, processes, and controls as it pertains to SDLC. Assists in developing new or improved practices and organizational processes or standards. Collaborates with the Delivery team to ensure work is aligned with business value and priorities. Works daily with teams to provide answers, feedback, and direction on work items, enablers, and user stories. Prioritizes the sprint backlog during sprint planning based on product roadmap priorities. Defines and communicates minimum viable product (MVP) and supporting release plans. Collaborates with Product Owners and Platform teams to define sprint plans based on the overall vision and roadmap. Refines product requirements based on input from sprint showcases/demos. Creates and authors user stories with detailed acceptance criteria in the customers’ voice. Collaborates with the team to prepare estimates for user stories within the backlog. Conducts formal review and acceptance of user stories within a sprint. Drives execution of user acceptance testing (UAT) with support from business and technology members. Participates in program-level ceremonies including product increment (PI) planning. Performs functional reviews as part of sprint demos and showcases with other Product Owners and Delivery Managers. Supports business strategy by forming a backlog of features and user stories for the delivery team. Articulates requirements for each user story with detailed acceptance criteria. Uses data and insights from multiple sources to benefit the business and members. Delivers new experiences by collaborating with delivery, experience design, business, and operations partners. Updates leadership on epic and feature delivery schedules and dependencies with recommended solutions. Pursues incremental delivery by delivering frequent, measurable enhancements to meet business goals and end-user needs. Partners with Solution Architects and technical leads to ensure designs meet Company goals. Works with the delivery team to support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and long-term release planning; monitors and improves product health. Ensures completed stories meet acceptance criteria by reviewing test plans and collaborating on testing efforts. Seeks and improves processes across the product team and communicates with stakeholders and management. Required Experience in building roadmaps for large CMDB implementations (new or revamp). Experience in writing stories with clear acceptance criteria and dependencies for CMDB. Deep understanding of CMDB and CSDM concepts, data modeling, and best practices. Experience populating CMDB data from multiple sources and maintaining data quality. Experience running CMDB governance meetings and onboarding stakeholders to CMDB for healthy data. Experience leveraging CMDB data to solve business problems (reduction of MTTR, root cause analysis, etc.). Familiarity with ITIL (Incidents, Problems, Changes) and ITAM processes and their relation to CMDB. Experience as a Product Owner or similar role in IT. Recommended 5+ years of ServiceNow experience. 3+ years of ITOM experience (Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management). Knowledge of infrastructure, networks, and firewalls. Knowledge of enterprise monitoring and security vulnerability tools. Proficient in Google Workspace applications (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Gmail).
