Overview
Vice President, Operations – North America is a key senior executive responsible for full P&L ownership of North American operations, including new equipment and rebuilds. This leader drives execution across multiple sites and functions, ensuring alignment to growth objectives and strategic priorities while cultivating a high-performance, people-centered culture. Success requires cross-functional collaboration to connect site and regional operations with product, commercial, and supply chain priorities—keeping customer value central from strategy through delivery. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role oversees a team of site and multi-site leaders; collaborates with international leaders to ensure consistency and coordinated execution; supports growth aligning with product, commercial, operational, and supply chain strategies to deliver customer value, efficiency, and margin expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Own and lead P&L performance for all North American operations (New Equipment + Rebuilds)
Align operations strategy to broader business growth plans through collaboration with Product, Commercial, Operational Strategy, and Supply Chain leaders
Translate long-range strategic priorities into site-level execution roadmaps, investment plans, and targets
Contribute to operational model and footprint strategy; coordinate with international leaders to share best practices and maintain global standards
Work within a matrixed organization to ensure shared accountability and integrated decision-making
Lead day-to-day operations across a network of domestic facilities; manage 9 direct reports and ~437 team members
Drive safety, quality, and delivery excellence; foster a culture of care
Drive adoption of Customer Trust Experience to deliver high-quality solutions on time with minimal warranty exposure
Apply continuous improvement and problem-solving to eliminate inefficiencies and improve throughput; partner with Finance on performance reviews
Serve as escalation point for delivery challenges, quoting risk, or field warranty concerns
Continuously evolve site-level structures to optimize cost and growth; develop leadership bench and internal talent
Align operations with Barry-Wehmiller values; act as strategic and cultural force on the senior leadership team
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred
20+ years of relevant experience, with 10+ years leading multi-site operations across states or regions
Proven success in operational efficiency, productivity, and margin improvement
Experience managing P&L and leading large teams across complex operations
Familiarity with Lean, continuous improvement, and structured problem-solving
Ability to adapt to evolving strategic priorities
Strong leadership and collaboration skills, especially in matrixed environments
Ability to lead through complexity and develop leadership across teams
Travel:
50–60%, domestic & international, primarily within North America

Site and Multi-Site Operations leaders have direct staff accountability for Manufacturing & Assembly, Testing, Project Management, Planning, Operational Excellence / CI, and matrixed oversight for Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Stockroom / Logistics
