Strategic Remediation Validation Testing (Audit and Controls Testing) - Associate Specialist

This is a newly created individual contributor position within the Global Strategic Remediation Oversight and Governance team as part of the Global Regulatory Affairs Office. The successful candidate will report to the Remediation Validation Testing Manager and will bring proven expertise in financial services assurance and validation testing activities. The role will contribute to the design and execution of the remediation quality control/validation testing plan for significant remediation activities including regulators and internal audit. The candidate will interact with senior management across Northern Trust and apply technical ability to execute the remediation quality control/validation testing plan. The role will manage and execute Northern Trust’s remediation quality control/validation testing program, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and translating multiple requirements into a balanced validation program. The candidate will provide subject matter expertise and execution rigor to enable management and coordination of issue validation and related testing activities. Responsibilities

Establish and develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders Design and execute the quality control/validation approach and ensure that documentation supports reviews and explains decisions Identify and analyze risks, plan and prioritize validation tasks for on-time delivery, conduct interviews, observe operations, document and analyze processes and controls Oversee the execution of assigned regulatory validation projects and deliverables Develop understanding of business risks, controls, processes, and relevant laws/regulatory rules; understand system impacts within areas reviewed Escalate and communicate with stakeholders to discuss issues and agree on path forward Required Skills
A college or university degree 10+ years in financial services, with 5+ years of testing experience in a financial institution or equivalent consultancy experience Superior analytical and organizational skills Ability to work under pressure Ability to multitask and adapt to changing plans on short notice Effective written and oral communication across all levels of staff and management Preferred Skills / Experience
Experience in financial services internal audit, risk management, or with risk management frameworks Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CISA, CIA, ACA, ACCA) and/or an MBA or JD with relevant technical abilities (regulatory compliance, risk management, auditing) Required Competencies
Execute a formal quality control/validation testing strategy aligned with the organization’s risk profile and regulatory requirements Strong initiative, people skills, decision-making, analytical thinking, and cultural awareness Ability to manage critical issues and realign priorities and deliverables as needed Form evaluative judgments based on analysis in complex and dynamic situations Salary
Salary range: $95,600 - 162,400 USD Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay.
