Overview Assistant Director, Financial Aid (Federal Aid) at Broward College. This position administers the operations of federal financial aid, including packaging, awarding, and reporting Title IV funds. Ensures compliance with college standards, policies, and guidelines while scheduling, training, and supervising those reporting to this position within the operations team. Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Bachelor\'s degree. Master\'s degree preferred.

Minimum Experience/Training:

Five years of experience in financial aid Title IV processing, with three years in a supervisory or lead (leading projects, processes and staff) capacity required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Essential Functions

Daily -35%: Manages the daily operations and coordination of Title IV financial aid services, including the supervision of the Senior Advisors and part time staff and the monitoring of system reports.

Daily -30%: Provides guidance to staff and leadership team regarding the processing of Title IV financial aid. Analyzes and evaluates financial aid eligibility for students and monitors internal and external software to ensure compliance and accurate processing of Title IV awards.

Daily -10%: Oversees staff in the training and application of new Title IV financial aid processes and procedures ensuring the accuracy and consistency of information provided to students, staff, and the community.

Other, as Needed- 10%: Assists in the testing of interfacing financial aid systems with other internal systems, such as College Integrated Data Base (CID), student records, and credit and collections.

Daily -10%: Provides recommendations regarding staff training needs in relation to both the computerized college systems as well as the interpretation of federal financial aid regulations. Assists in streamlining and updating the financial aid processes to more effectively package, award and distribute aid according to state and federal guidelines.

Other, as Needed- 5%: Performs related duties as assigned.
