The Store Manager is responsible for all facets of store operations and directly influences the performance of everyone who interacts with guests. Using elements of GameStop's buy, sell, trade, and reservation business model, the Circle of Life, the Store Manager develops and promotes a sales culture by creating individualized and complete solutions for every guest, and providing outstanding guest service experiences through professional conduct and shared passion for gaming. This role supports the overall store environment to meet or exceed sales and profit, ensures products are easy to see and buy, builds sales by sharing product and gaming knowledge, provides a clean, organized environment, grows guest loyalty and repeat business, and supervises a retail staff which may vary based upon store size, location and expected sales volume. Responsibilities

The Store Manager will manage and lead in a multiunit capacity. Provide and model best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to questions and concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of promotions; recommend additional items; apply selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest; circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/returns using the POS system; handle cash, receipts, and ensure top-notch guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer calls promptly and professionally using the store greeting. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, e.g., new title reservations program, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards loyalty program. Recruit, interview, hire, assess, develop, and retain high-performing associates. Ensure associates have completed onboarding and training prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure understanding of all company/store policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial policy, and ethical responsibilities. Communicate regularly with store staff and District Manager to implement store initiatives; set guest service expectations and train associates; supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates, Retail Keyholders, and Assistant Store Managers. Schedule store associates according to guidelines; manage breaks and meals; supervise staffing to maintain excellent guest service. Approve payroll and manage time-off requests; verify time worked and ensure accurate pay. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document performance in the appropriate HR system. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per company guidelines; ensure all fixtures and equipment are in working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Perform store inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure product is represented and organized on the sales floor. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; conduct safety and security practices; inspect packages during closing where appropriate. Lead store team in meeting/exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete administrative and operational duties as needed. Count, balance, and reconcile daily transaction totals in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies/shortages; conduct inventories and report discrepancies to District Manager. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately; label boxes with packing lists. Maintain awareness of associate and guest safety; report injuries per company guidelines. Maintain store records/files neatly; keep manuals up to date. Adhere to all policies and procedures in the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Qualifications

Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree with emphasis in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 1 year of retail management experience required. At least 3 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management/leadership experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key skills and abilities

Possess an outgoing and welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine and individualized assistance to every guest during every visit. Demonstrate clear verbal and written communication and listening skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Work independently and as head of a team to perform tasks in a timely manner. Meet leadership performance expectations, including attendance, personal appearance, safety, and respectful workplace. Operate the POS system. Possess basic mathematics and organizational skills (alphabetizing). Complete required paperwork properly and accurately. Convey instructions clearly and follow company procedures. Execute financial tasks in accordance with company policy. Thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment and lead by example. Work 40 hours per week with flexibility for extended hours, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Remain reliable, trustworthy, and use good judgment. Able to stand and move about the store for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs. On military base locations, knowledge of military ranks may apply. Pay: $17.13 - $25.13 Employment type
