Job Description: Salary: $26 - $30 per hour DOE
The Shipping, Receiving, & Inventory Specialist is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a company's incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate inventory management by coordinating receiving procedures, preparing orders for shipment, tracking stock levels, and maintaining detailed records while adhering to safety protocols and compliance regulations; collaborate with other departments to maintain smooth logistics operations.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Receiving Operations
Inspecting and verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders and bills of lading. Identifying and reporting any damage or discrepancies to vendors. Properly storing received inventory in designated warehouse locations. Managing the receiving dock process, including unloading trucks and coordinating with delivery drivers. Inventory Management
Maintaining accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS). Conducting cycle counts to verify stock levels and identify discrepancies. Analyzing inventory data to help forecast demand and optimize stock levels. Managing reorder points and communicating with suppliers to maintain adequate inventory. Shipping Operations
Processing customer orders by picking, packing, and labeling items accurately. Generating shipping documents like packing slips and shipping labels. Coordinating with shipping carriers to schedule deliveries. Monitoring shipment tracking and resolving any shipping issues. Compliance and Reporting
Maintaining compliance with all relevant shipping and receiving regulations. Generating reports on inventory levels, shipping metrics, and warehouse performance. Identifying cost-saving opportunities within the warehouse operations. Other Duties
Tracking, ordering, and maintaining adequate stock of all facility materials and supplies, including warehouse, service center, office, and others as needed. Assisting customers at Will Call. Performing other assigned duties, functions, and tasks as assigned or as needed. Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) Proficiency in data entry and record-keeping Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines Minimum 3-5 years of related experience Experience in inventory control and cycle counting procedures Ability to regularly lift and move 20-lbs and occasionally up to 50-lbs, or more. Knowledge of standard freight carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and USPS and their customer portals/systems for daily use. Knowledge of LTL freight and related carriers Skills & Qualifications
