Lifewater Engineering is currently accepting applications for a civil or environmental engineering position at our
Fairbanks Location . We are seeking a hardworking, dependable, self-motivated civil or environmental engineer who is or can soon become a licensed professional engineer in Alaska. This employee will be mentored for a time by a senior P.E. as this person takes over management of a three-four person office. Must be able to work well as a team leader and independently. Overtime and travel will occasionally be required. This position is critical to day-to-day operations at Lifewater. Both in-house training and off-site training at conferences and courses will be provided. In addition to engineering, this position will include: personnel management, vision casting, and long-range planning as follows: Engineering Designing, permitting, and overseeing fabrication of packaged residential and commercial wastewater treatment systems (this requires site visits, plan preparation using AutoCAD / SolidWorks, and interaction with owners and contractors) Designing, permitting, and overseeing fabrication of packaged drinking water systems Advising treatment plant operators Performing patent research in anticipation of filing patent applications on new products Developing training programs and manuals for system owners Overseeing product testing Overseeing development of new, useful products (such as an innovative sludge dewatering system) In due course, being the engineer of record for Lifewater Engineering Company Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Engineering degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related field. Advanced degree. Three-Five years experience in office and project management, interacting with clients and staff in a professional manner. Alaska P.E. license in civil or environmental engineering, or the ability to quickly obtain the same Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including active listening, reading comprehension, writing skills, critical thinking, social perceptiveness, time management Ability to learn quickly and implement workflow improvement Ability to maintain confidentiality to preserve trade secrets and honor non-disclosure agreements that we have for certain projects Working Conditions: Office environment – typical of normal offices Manufacturing environment – may be exposed to loud noises, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts Field environment – may include travel to remote sites in Alaska in any season of the year Physical Requirements Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, pushing, pulling, manual dexterity, and visual acuity. Lifewater Engineering Company is an engineering and plastic fabrication company that specializes in wastewater treatment for residential and commercial applications. Lifewater's core goal is cold climate engineering and sewage treatment plants with the use of plastic fabrication. All of our products are designed to operate efficiently in extremely cold climates.
