The Subject Matter Expert III (CSE) will support the Chugach Technical Program Manager and the US Coast Guard team. The incumbent will provide day-to-day engineering support to NIWC. The position requires an experienced Specialist to support the project.
Travel:
Travel up to 15% CONUS/OCONUS.

Responsibilities
Participate in technical design reviews, integration, testing, and documentation updates
Troubleshoot security and network problems
Detailed understanding of DoD Host Based Security systems
Work with Cyber, Software and Network teams to address Cyber issues
Review technical documentation and provide detailed feedback
Update, sustain, and administer in-house infrastructure as required
Run vulnerability scans and audits on local infrastructure
Coordinate Cyber Mitigation review meetings for Information Systems
Apply system security engineering principles to deliver solutions to enhance security
Identify threats and develop defense measures; evaluate system changes for security implications; draft cyber security white papers
Develop and update Cyber Security documentation (software/hardware lists, topology drawings, ports/protocols/services)
Write RMF-based policies and procedures; develop cyber security processes to contain implementation
Configure Windows and Linux host-based security, and network/cloud-based security systems
Assist with installation and configuration of network security architectures (firewalls, router ACLs)
Support upgrading security protections of the organization’s data, systems, and networks
Demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for complex network security issues
Experience with cyber security tools, technologies, and processes (IDS/IPS, SIEM, ACAS/Nessus)
Accountable For
Working under pressure and time constraints
Working well individually or in a team environment
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment, especially while traveling
Job Requirements Mandatory:
BS in Cyber Security or Computer Science
U.S. citizen
Active DoD Secret security clearance
CompTIA Security+ Certification or GIAC’s GSEC or GFACT Certification
Four (4) years of experience working with Government systems
Proficient with MS Visio, Nessus, STIG Viewer
Willing to travel up to 15% CONUS/OCONUS
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and drug test
Preferred:
Proficient with Wireshark, Metasploit, Nmap, Burp, Kali
CISSP, CISM, or equivalent certification
Experience implementing RMF-based cybersecurity policies and procedures
Experience with the Sea Commander System
Experience using MS Visio
Experience in emerging technologies
Working Conditions
Work may be performed at Moorestown, NJ, including industrial areas, shipyards, Navy/Coast Guard bases, and shipboard/shore locations
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 30 pounds, climb vertical ladders, and work around heavy machinery
Operate hand and power tools
