Overview

Chair and Open Rank Professor, Undergraduate Social Work at National Louis University. The Open Rank Professor and Chair of Social Work will provide academic and administrative leadership for the Social Work Program, support CSWE accreditation compliance, oversee course development, instructional faculty and the practicum education coordinator, and academic programming. This is an eleven-month, full-time non-tenure-track faculty position serving as Chair of the Social Work academic program within the Undergraduate College at National Louis University. The position is based in Chicago with willingness to teach at other Chicago metropolitan area campuses as needed. Responsibilities

Curriculum Ownership: serve as SME and oversee development of new courses and revisions to maintain accreditation standards; ensure consistency across courses through development, implementation, and revision. Leadership of Day-to-Day Curriculum Implementation and Department Planning: lead regular department meetings to enhance student experience, review curriculum implementation, and use student data for ongoing planning. Data-Driven Course and Major Planning: review course/major data quarterly and annually with UGC administration and department faculty to inform enhancements and opportunities for new offerings. Scheduling: implement an efficient scheduling model to maximize course options, optimize class sizes, and support flexible academic pathways. Hiring and Staffing: collaborate with Human Resources to maintain a pool of candidates, review and interview, and recommend hires; select instructors to staff courses (contracting handled by UGC administration). Performance Management and PD: supervise faculty, conduct observations, provide feedback and annual reviews; lead professional development to improve教学 excellence and onboarding of new faculty. Administration, Compliance, and Accreditation: ensure approvals and compliance with university policies; support CSWE EPAS alignment, curricular assessment, annual reporting, and reaffirmation of accreditation; assist with student issues (academic appeals, readmissions) and coordinate budget and enrollment planning as needed. Teaching: demonstrate excellence across modalities, collaborate with faculty to deliver blended/online instruction, and utilize technology to develop student competency; maintain a teaching load per workload policy. Qualifications

Master's Degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program; PhD in Social Work or related field preferred. Six (6) years of full-time professional experience in social work. Three (3) years of professional practitioner experience. Three (3) years of administrative leadership in a college/university setting. Demonstrated ability to work with racially, culturally, and economically diverse colleagues and students. Record of teaching excellence in higher education; agile and creative pedagogy; ability to connect instruction to real-world relevance; proficient with technology for teaching and online/blended formats; experience using data for improvement.
