Overview
Base pay range: $127,569.00/yr - $189,774.00/yr Position Summary: The Advanced Practice Provider Educator is an exempt position responsible/accountable for educating, clinically developing, measuring and documenting competencies, and being an ongoing resource to new and existing Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners throughout the organization. Responsibilities
Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors. Educates new and existing PAs/NPs on relevant clinical matters pertinent to the PAs/NPs area of expertise, including medical and surgical diagnoses, common procedures, and department-specific needs. Develops, measures, signs off and manages all aspects of clinical competencies. Collaborates with the Medical Staff Office to account for appropriate Delineation of Privileges (DOP) for new and existing PAs/NPs. Works with appropriate Lead APPs to manage onboarding checklist for each new APP. Utilizes a variety of continuing education methods (e.g., lecture series, simulation lab, online resources) to educate and develop staff. Acts as an ongoing resource for staff to develop and evolve clinically. Supports new PAs/NPs in their onboarding process. Develops evidence-based standards of care, policies and procedures, as needed for the area of responsibility. Participates in committees, task forces, projects, etc., as required. Orchestrates education around billing, coding, and compliance. Collaborates with medical staff, nursing, care management, administration and other colleagues with a team-oriented approach. Familiar with anatomy, pharmacology, pathophysiology, clinical medicine and physical diagnosis. Demonstrates ability to collaborate effectively with all disciplines and specialties throughout the organization. Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with all disciplines in the medical arena. Performs all other related duties as assigned. Education & Experience Requirements
If a Physician Assistant: Current New York State Licensed Physician Assistant; Current National Certification. If a Nurse Practitioner: Current NYS license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse; Current NYS certification as a Nurse Practitioner; Current National Certification. Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience required. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS). Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Proficiency in procedures, techniques and skills approved in their delineation of privileges. Salary
