Overview
Senior Civil/Environmental Project Engineer position with Terracon’s South Central Region (KS/MO). Based in Lenexa, Manhattan, Topeka, or Wichita, Kansas; or Columbia or St. Louis, Missouri. Projects include landfill permit, design, construction quality assurance, site investigation and remediation, and regulatory compliance. Safety is key at Terracon, so we require someone who is dedicated to following our safety policies and practices and lead safety efforts by example Be responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; model appropriate safety practices, and promote pre-task planning for all projects Produce a quality product for the client by performing quality control checks and ensuring consistent quality standards on all projects and proposals Develop awareness and understanding of project-related risks and maintain familiarity with Terracon’s risk management policies Provide leadership for marketing and business development and adhere to our strong client experience standards Provide technical direction required for production and completion of both routine and unique or complex projects Be responsible for conceptualizing the initial design and/or investigation approach for large complex projects and/or have overall responsibility for the engineering work associated with a moderate-sized project Prepare proposals for projects of varying complexity Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate engineering work involving conventional engineering practices Evaluate complex laboratory and field data for inclusion in reports Serve as a technical adviser to project team members Provide thorough review of projects requiring complex and innovative investigation techniques and supervise analysis and formulation of recommendations in reports to clients; provide technical and quality control review of reports Interact directly with the client and project team on the development of the scope of services, as well as thoroughly communicating project progress, findings, and recommendations Author and prepare routine and complex engineering reports detailing services provided, findings, and recommendations Lead technical training and make informed decisions based upon state of the art technology Supervise field and project engineering staff Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering Minimum 8-11 years of relevant experience Professional Engineer (PE) registration for Kansas and/or Missouri or ability to obtain PE through reciprocity Master’s degree in Engineering preferred Understanding of state environmental regulations 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification (preferred) Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history About Terracon
