The Police Department, established in 1966, employs 81 sworn officers and 31 non-sworn staff, with an annual budget of over $20 million. The Challenge

As a Police Officer, duties include patrolling, public interaction, criminal investigations, law enforcement, collision investigations, and report writing. Shifts are either three 12-hour days with four days off or four 10-hour days with three days off. Opportunities for specialization include investigations, community policing, traffic, canine, bicycle patrol, SWAT, narcotics, or school resource officer roles. Recruitment Process
