Advanced Practice Provider: Vascular Anomalies and Hematology
Seattle Children’s Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our nationally recognized Vascular Anomalies (VAN) Program and General Hematology team within the Cancer and Blood Disorders Center. In this unique dual-role position, the APP will provide specialized, comprehensive care to pediatric patients with complex vascular anomalies as well as children with a wide range of general hematologic disorders in an outpatient setting. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care including history-taking, physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing individualized treatment plans. Prescribe and manage advanced therapies, including immunosuppressants, anticoagulants, and targeted oncology agents. Collaborate with attending physicians, specialists, and other members of the healthcare team to deliver effective, efficient, safe, and high-quality care. Refer and consult with appropriate services to coordinate comprehensive care plans. Participate in weekly multidisciplinary conferences alongside Hematology/Oncology, Otolaryngology, Surgery, and Interventional Radiology teams. Support care for patients enrolled in clinical trials and contribute to clinical research initiatives. Participate in patient, family, and provider education related to vascular anomalies and hematologic conditions. Contribute to organizational and departmental continuous performance and quality improvement initiatives. Provide care to patients from across the WWAMI region (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, Idaho), extending the reach of our specialized pediatric care. Required Education And Experience Master's degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric or family nurse practitioner program OR graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program. One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area. Required Credentials For Nurse Practitioners: Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington. Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner For Physician Assistants: Active, unencumbered physician assistant licensure in the State of Washington. Initial certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants For All Providers: Active Drug Enforcement Authority registration. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals is required at time of hire and to be maintained continuously throughout employment.
