Chaminade University of Honolulu is seeking an Adjunct Faculty, Communication. The responsibilities of this position include teaching a basic "COM 101" class with a focus on public speaking and interpersonal communication. The Adjunct Faculty are expected to remain current in the discipline and pedagogy, participate actively in curriculum delivery, development, and assessment, and hold regular office hours in support of students. The Adjunct Faculty will be responsible for meeting faculty responsibilities as described by Chaminade University’s Policy Manual IV, supporting policies as stated in the Chaminade School of Business and Communication Handbook and in course syllabi, and participating in meetings related to the course(s) being taught. Duties And Responsibilities

Participate in meetings related to the course(s) being taught. Demonstrate and encourage critical thinking skills. Demonstrate and maintain a professional relationship with administration, faculty, staff, and students. Communicate clearly with administration, faculty, staff, and students. Serve as a professional role model for students. Maintain high standards and promote excellence in education. Demonstrate ongoing professional competency by seeking new knowledge, improving teaching skills, and remaining current in the academic discipline. Qualifications

Required: Minimum Education/Experience: Master’s or terminal degree in field of teaching or a closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university. Preferred: College-level teaching experience is highly desirable. Skills: Computer literate with an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point); learning management systems (e.g. Canvas); e-mail programs; and the internet. Physical Requirements

Candidate must be able to traverse the campus, stoop, bend, climb stairs, lift approximately 35 lbs., and have finger dexterity. Marianist Identity/Native Hawaiian & Pacific Island Serving
