Overview
Assistant Store Manager - Chico's at Chico's FAS, Inc. is primarily responsible for supporting the store manager in managing the sales, operations, asset protection, and human resources functions of the store to ensure a great customer experience and maximum profitability. Location: 3301 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Ste #42, Metairie, LA. Responsibilities
Prepare weekly schedules to ensure proper floor coverage within fiscal guidelines; review time sheets and other payroll documentation for accuracy and submit as appropriate. Promote customer service by ensuring associates greet and assist customers; respond to customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner. Supervise associates engaged in sales, inventory receipt, reconciling cash receipts, or performing services for customers. Model sales expectations by utilizing various techniques and communicating product knowledge to the customer; recommend merchandise selections or help to locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs. Maintain a visually appealing store with proper housekeeping, visual merchandising, and organization at a high standard. Train associates on visual merchandising techniques to ensure the store is always maintained. Monitor associate sales activities and productivity; acknowledge and communicate performance, motivate and train associates to achieve full potential. Perform financial activities in accordance with policy including cash handling and reporting, price changes, and merchandise handling; ensure all register transactions are completed accurately and in policy. Administer operational processes including inventory receipt/dispatch, daily replenishment of floor merchandise, and preparation of physical inventories. Facilitate and manage general store operations to maintain safe and efficient operations. Support compliance with applicable laws, loss prevention policies, operating procedures and controls; conduct associate training as needed to reinforce proper controls. Assist in recruiting, hiring, and development of store associates; review key performance indicator reports and deliver coaching as needed; provide feedback for associate performance appraisals and evaluations. Other duties as assigned/required. Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent Must be 18 years old or older Minimum 3 years prior retail or sales management experience preferred Excellent communication, verbal and written skills Able to travel to stores throughout the district Excellent customer service skills Knowledge of administrative aspects of store operations Ability to communicate with customers, stand and maneuver on the sales floor and stockroom, operate register, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, handle merchandise, climb, reach, push/pull Regular attendance is essential to ensure adequate coverage Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays Chico’s FAS, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
