Overview

Kearney & Company is seeking Accounting Associates to join our team. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for future or recent graduates majoring in Accounting or related IT/Accounting combinations. The role offers hands-on audit, accounting, and consulting experience working with federal government agencies across the United States. Location: Washington DC Metro Area. Work may be in-office or at client sites as this is a client-facing organization. Travel opportunities may be presented depending on the client. Work schedules vary by engagement and are subject to change. Responsibilities

Participate in pre-audit planning for engagements Review client accounting and operating procedures, as well as systems of internal control Execute day-to-day accounting and audit activities and conduct fieldwork daily Assist in performing audit procedures to determine the design and operating effectiveness of controls, and perform risk assessments Apply accounting and auditing concepts to client situations Foster an efficient, innovative, and team-oriented work environment Demonstrate awareness and knowledge of Federal Government’s financial and management responsibilities Assist in drafting and preparing project deliverables Work in a team environment and communicate effectively with clients and team members Balance multiple projects concurrently Utilize technology to share knowledge, develop skills, and continuously learn Demonstrate professionalism and competence in the client’s environment Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills Demonstrate strong digital dexterity and adaptability with emerging technology to improve outcomes Travel opportunities as required by clients Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting or related IT/Accounting focus Willing to work on-site in the Washington, D.C. Metro Area as client-based needs arise Ability to travel at least 25% (barring travel restrictions) Ability to obtain and maintain an interim U.S. Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required) Excellent verbal and written communication skills CPA candidate or eligibility to sit for CPA certification is highly desirable Compensation and Benefits

Base pay range: $52,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr. The expected salary range for this position is between $52,000 and $70,000. This range represents base pay only and does not include overtime, benefits, or bonuses.
