The Analyst III will play a critical role in shaping and advancing the Department of Defense's efforts in responsible AI governance. This role involves writing and reviewing RAI policies, coordinating with stakeholders, and providing technical guidance on AI ethics. The specialist will support various initiatives, including policy development, stakeholder management, and interagency collaborations, to ensure the ethical implementation of AI technologies across the DoD.
Responsibilities
Policy Development and Review Coordination with Responsible AI Council Supporting DoD, interagency, and congressional tasks related to Responsible AI, including drafting reports and responding to internal and external requests. Maintain effective working relationships with defense, interagency, and industry partners to advance AI governance initiatives. Briefing and Documentation Advise on international AI trends, advancements, and best practices in governance, ethics, privacy, fairness, and social responsibility. Provide technical guidance on AI ethics for priority DoD projects, involving system safety, cybersecurity, human factors, and policy. Literature Review and Gap Analysis Provide technical reviews and generate content for Responsible AI products and toolkits. Assist with the implementation of the Responsible AI program and collaborate on ethical AI strategies. Develop standard methodologies for responsible AI product development. Apply expertise in data science and AI methodologies to build ethical AI capabilities, ensuring models are robust and unbiased.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Political Science, Policy, Government, or related field Active TS with SCI Eligibility Minimum 5 years’ experience writing DoD RAI Policy Minimum 2 years' experience coordinating DoD-wide bodies, such as the Responsible AI Working Council
