HOMELAND SECURITY: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (college credit)
Location: District Wide. Position Type: Adjunct. This is a pool for adjunct/substitute instructors for the San Diego Community College District across City, Mesa, Miramar campuses and various college of continuing education locations on a continuous basis. There is no guarantee of immediate openings; applications will be considered for fall, spring, and/or summer semesters. Hiring deans and department chairs contact candidates directly when qualifications match. Applications are purged approximately one year from submittal, and you may need to re-apply to remain in the pool. The Position

Major Responsibilities
Primary duties of adjunct faculty members are related to curriculum and teaching; the assignment is divided between lecture and lab classes as determined by the department. Adjunct instructional faculty are required to be available to students outside of class. Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines. Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics. Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas. Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member. Teach all scheduled classes. Maintain accurate records. Provide quality instruction, create and maintain an environment which emphasizes teaching and learning and encourages free discussion of ideas, interests and issues. Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in Homeland Security, Emergency Management, Emergency Preparedness, Crisis Management, Disaster Management, or Cybersecurity; OR, The equivalent. AND Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff. Desirable Qualifications
Equivalency: If you do not possess the exact degrees listed above or anticipate receiving the required degree before teaching, complete a Request for Equivalency Form and attach it during the application process. For foreign degrees, coursework must be evaluated by a NACES member organization or ACEI, and the evaluation must be attached with the online application. Licenses/Certificates/Credentials
