Overview
PUBLIC SAFETY: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (college credit) – San Diego Community College District (District Wide). This is a part-time/academic position in the adjunct pool for potential assignments across the district. The district operates on an open pool basis; postings note that there may not be immediate openings and applicants may be contacted as needed for assignments in fall, spring, or summer semesters. Applications are purged approximately one year from submittal; reapplication may be requested to remain in the pool. Location: District Wide. Position Type: Academic. Salary: Classroom assignment $55.80 – $71.21 per hour; Non-classroom assignment $41.85 – $53.41 per hour. Initial salary placement follows official transcripts for those with advanced coursework. Salary schedule details viewable via the district’s salary schedules. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (overtime accrue). Major Responsibilities
Primary duties relate to curriculum and teaching; assignments may be split between lecture and lab classes as determined by the department. Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines. Maintain professional conduct and ethics; stay current in the subject matter. Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member; teach all scheduled classes. Maintain accurate records and create an environment that emphasizes teaching and learning with open discussion. Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Any Bachelor\'s degree AND two (2) years of experience; OR, Any Associate degree AND six (6) years of experience; OR, Possession of a California Community College Instructor Credential (valid for life); OR, The equivalent. AND, Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff. FOREIGN DEGREES: Applicants with foreign degrees must have coursework evaluated by a professional association; attach the evaluation during the application process. An original evaluation must be presented at hire. EQUIVALENCY: If you do not possess the exact degrees listed or expect to receive them prior to start, submit a Request for Equivalency Form with the application. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: California Community College Instructor Credential (valid for life). Additional Information
