We are currently seeking a
Senior Cost Estimator
to join our multidisciplinary municipal, industrial, and alternative project delivery design and construction management teams. If you’re passionate about numbers, thrive on precision, and want to contribute to impactful projects, this opportunity is for you. Your Key Responsibilities
Cost Estimation Excellence: supervise, facilitate, and coordinate the development of accurate, timely, and detailed cost estimates for major capital and construction projects to guide outcomes and client satisfaction. Analytical Insight: prepare cost estimates by analyzing costs, materials, labor, bid documentation, and specifications. Database Management: design, implement, and maintain cost estimating databases using various software applications. Value Management: collaborate with project teams to review drawings and specifications, determine costs, and assist in value management. Validation and Guidance: evaluate third-party estimates, track market conditions, and provide estimating guidance to medium and large projects, including complex ones. Technical Skills: perform quantity take-offs for large concrete structures (formwork, reinforcement, embedded metals) and contribute to project sequencing and scheduling for complex water projects. Documentation: write concise Basis of Estimate and Basis of Schedule reports. Client Collaboration: participate in client cost estimate and schedule reviews to ensure alignment with project goals. Risk Assessment: establish site-specific estimating criteria (labor, equipment, material supply) and direct cost and schedule risk development. Collaboration with Design Team: analyze critical path activities and resolve issues with the project design team. Team Building: assist management in developing an estimating and scheduling team and contribute to staffing and technical development of US resources. Experience & Technical Skills: minimum of 15 years in cost estimating, construction management, or related fields; proficiency in MCACES, MII, Sage, and @risk; familiarity with Autodesk products (AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project). Problem-Solving & Attitude: strong problem-solving ability, professional judgment, creativity, collaboration, and a positive outlook. Position will primarily work in an office setting; some field work may be required. Qualifications
Minimum 15 years in cost estimating, construction management, or related fields; experience developing construction cost estimates and schedules at various design stages per AACEI guidelines. Cost Estimation Software: MCACES, MII, Sage, @risk. Software: AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
