Overview The Division of Advancement and Alumni Engagement utilizes resources, technology, and business for the purpose of constituent engagement, donor research and solicitation, and stewardship throughout Emory University and Health Systems. We are currently seeking a Lead Systems Software Engineer, Advancement Systems.

The Advancement Information Systems team supports the Advancement and Alumni Engagement departments through the maintenance and utilization of divisional systems. This position will report to the Senior System Software Engineer.

Responsibilities

Coordinates and leads the development and maintenance of applications.

Consults with customers to understand business problems and develops technical solutions.

Provides technical expertise on applications, technical tools and software.

Provides technical direction to customers and support staff.

Performs other related duties as required.

Additional Details

Acts as a subject matter expert for our Salesforce Affinaquest application.

Provides technical expertise on applications, technical tools and software.

Analyzes and resolves problems resulting from vendor fixes and upgrades.

Programs, analyzes and writes specifications.

Devises solutions to system problems.

Develops and tests applications; makes revisions to improve functionality.

Develops and analyzes the effectiveness of new applications and test procedures.

Assess, create, and implement new or improved processes for department functions/initiatives.

This position requires coming in person two days a week.

Minimum Qualifications

Eight years of information technology experience OR a bachelor's degree and six years of information technology experience.

Positions in this classification may require knowledge of one or more programming languages and/or knowledge of an application and application tools.

Preferred Qualifications

Significant experience in Salesforce and/or certifications.

Possess strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate a complex work environment while managing multiple projects.

Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service, the ability to work collaboratively, and comfort working with ambiguity.

Professionalism and confidentiality with sound judgment and discretion.

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, mass email applications, relational databases, project management software, technical reporting tools, IDEs (e.g., PL-SQL Developer, Visual Studio), and CRM systems.

Aptitude for mastering new software, applications, and databases.

Prior experience in advancement, fundraising, alumni engagement, non-profit, or university settings.

Flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines.

Salesforce Administrator certifications and/or significant experience with administrator functions (users, data tools, profiles, roles, permission sets, custom objects/fields, page layouts, workflow rules, validation rules, reports, dashboards). Experience with Apex, Process Builder, Workflows, Flow, SOQL, SQL, releases, integrations, data analysis, and related Salesforce developer tools and troubleshooting.

Work Arrangement This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed-upon guidelines of the department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to the employee.
