Position: Senior AWS Platform Engineer (Infrastructure & SRE) Location: Hybrid – 3 days a week in Naperville, IL Duration: 6 months Contract with possible extension Interview Process: Immediate Interview on Call/video, followed by in person interviews Role Summary

We are hiring a hands-on (80% build/operate) AWS Platform Engineer to design, harden, and run our cloud platform with an emphasis on Amazon Connect contact centers, Lex V2 conversational bots, and Lambda (Python) based integrations. You will own reliability and scalability end-to-end by instrumenting, automating, and governing a multi-account AWS environment via Infrastructure as Code while enabling new capabilities (including Bedrock-powered AI) safely and at speed. Key Responsibilities

Platform Engineering & Infrastructure: design, provision, and operate AWS foundations (multi-account landing zone, VPCs, subnets, routing, security controls, IAM guardrails) using Terraform and automated change management. Build reusable Terraform modules, CI/CD templates, and runbooks for serverless and container workloads (Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, EventBridge, ECS/EKS as needed). Implement robust secrets, encryption, and config management (KMS, Secrets Manager, SSM Parameter Store) and enforce least-privilege IAM. SRE, Reliability & Observability: define and manage SLIs/SLOs; implement error budgets; lead incident response, postmortems, and game days. Build end-to-end visibility with CloudWatch, Datadog, and Operata (dashboards, traces, logs, RUM/synthetics, alerting); instrument custom Connect/Lex metrics and business KPIs. Amazon Connect & Conversational AI: architect and implement Connect solutions (contact flows, queues/routing profiles, hours, quick connects, Contact Lens analytics, recordings/retention, real-time reporting). Build and optimize Lex V2 bots (intents, slots, multiturn, locales) with Lambda fulfillment/validation hooks and strong observability. Integrate Connect & Lex with CRMs (e.g., Salesforce Service/Experience Cloud) and data platforms; tune KPIs such as AHT, containment, and CSAT. Leverage AWS Bedrock for generative assist where appropriate with safe Lambda/Step Functions patterns. Automation, CI/CD & Quality: own and improve CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps; optionally CodeBuild/CodePipeline) with automated tests, security scans, and progressive delivery for IaC and app code. Write clean, testable Python for Lambdas and tooling; codify operational tasks with runbooks and CLI tools. Security, Compliance & Cost: implement PCI-aware integrations and ensure logging, retention, and audit readiness (CloudTrail, Config). Drive FinOps: tagging, budgets, rightsizing, lifecycle policies, and data egress controls for Connect recordings/CTR/Contact Lens in S3, Athena/Glue analytics, and Kinesis streams. Cross-Functional Impact: partner with product, data, and engineering teams; communicate tradeoffs and roadmaps to technical and business stakeholders. Support scalable integrations with third-party platforms (e.g., Vtex, Shopify) and PCI-compliant payment providers (e.g., Stripe). Must-have Qualifications: deep hands-on AWS expertise (Amazon Connect, Lex V2, Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, EventBridge, S3, DynamoDB/RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC, WAF/Shield, KMS); proven production Connect experience; Lex V2 bot design with Python (boto3); strong Terraform and GitOps; SRE and observability skills; CI/CD automation; Salesforce integration; strong debugging and communication; on-call readiness. Nice-to-Have: leadership for large multi-region AWS platforms; experience with AI assistants/Bedrock; call center tech beyond Connect; containers/Kubernetes; AWS certifications; fault injection simulator and security frameworks.
