Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Electrical Analytical Engineer specializing in Electromagnetic Transient (EMT) analysis of power systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in performing complex calculations related to Transient Over-Voltage (TOV), Transient Recovery Voltage (TRV), Switching Studies, and Insulation Coordination. Additionally, the candidate should possess extensive software proficiency in PSCAD or EMTP-RV.

Responsibilities

Conduct detailed electrical analysis utilizing time domain techniques to evaluate system performance and identify potential issues.

Perform complex calculations related to Transient Over-Voltage (TOV), Transient Recovery Voltage (TRV), Switching Studies, and Insulation Coordination.

Develop and implement innovative solutions to optimize system performance and mitigate risks.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise and support in electrical analysis and troubleshooting.

Prepare comprehensive reports documenting analysis findings, recommendations, and design modifications.

Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies relevant to time domain analysis.

This position allows for a flexible hybrid schedule with a mix of in-office days and working remotely.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (background in Power/Power Systems); Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering is preferred; substantial industry experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.

10 or more years of experience in time domain analysis of power systems.

Proficiency in software tools such as PSCAD or EMTP-RV to perform complex electrical calculations.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
