Job Summary The Department of Pediatrics at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Visiting Associate/Assistant Professor(GFT) / Director of Pediatric Pulmonology. The successful candidate's duties include: Administrative/Teaching : Supervision of Pediatric Asthma Clinic at UHB (NS41), Director of Pediatric Lung Function Laboratory and Codirector of Pediatric Exercise Physiology Laboratory, Evaluation of children referred to the laboratory for procedures, supervision of 2 technicians, interpretation of procedures & prepare and provide reports to referring physicians, Serve as a preceptor for 3rd year medical students. Clinical : Provide up to 5 months of consultation service at University Hospital, Conduct 1-2 outpatient session per week in the faculty practice, Participate in coverage of the Fiberoptic Bronchoscopy service, Clinical responsibilities will also include providing weekend inpatient general pediatrics call two weekends per month. Research : Supervise all research activity in the Division, Develop and implement clinical research projects, Generate peer reviewed publications and present data at National meetings, Supervise medical students who opt to take part in clinical research. Required Qualifications
Board Certified in Pediatrics and Board Certified or eligible in Pediatric Pulmonology, with an academic background in basic or clinical research. New York State Medical Licensure.
